Edlesborough Tennis Club

Once upon a time in 1978, back in the days when wooden tennis rackets were the norm, a small band of locals got together to establish a tennis club on Edlesborough village green.

Since then the courts have been replaced several times and been enhanced with high quality lighting to allow players to participate all year round.

Over the 25 years since starting, several thousand members have learned how to play, many of them participating in the leagues the Club enters into. Some have even reached a standard to compete in county and regional competitions, with invitations to become a regular player for the County.

Why we started

The reasons for establishing the club include wanting to bring the local community closer together, providing an affordable facility for juniors and adults to learn how to play tennis and providing a meeting place for building local relationships. In this day and age this is becoming more challenging.

Membership

We currently have a membership in excess of 200 members, with a 50:50 split between junior and adults. The Club, however, as part of its growing Mini Tennis program is teaching a larger number of Juniors. This is due to its close links to the local schools.

We hope that you find what you need on our website, whether you are a member, another club looking to find us, or are interested in joining.
